What It Is
Glycolic Acid is considered the holy grail for effectively removing dead cells from the outer layer of the skin. As a group of naturally occurring non-toxic acids, collectively known as Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA), it helps to reveal smoother skin, softer texture, smaller pores, reduce the depth of fine lines, fade discolorations, and treat acne, as demonstrated in multiple trials. AHA is recommended for acne-prone skin because acne lesions are cased initially by a clogging, not the follicle with dead skin cells. Visual improvements in the skin can be seen within just two weeks of use. Regain confidence and experience brighter, fresher, blemish-free complexion!
- How It Works
-
The treatment of acne in recent years has focused on eliminating abnormal keratinization of cells in the follicle. This buildup of dead cells interferes with the natural drainage of oils, causing the follicle (and sebaceous gland) to fill and clog. This process and its resulting blockage is what can lead to various stages of acne, from blackheads to more severe breakouts. AHA loosens the glue attachment of the corneocytes (dead cells), that are plugging follicular pores (the plug is know as a Comedone), and reduces the production of new comedones. Moderate acne is generally more inflamed and may be accompanied by larger pustules and nodules. Continued use of the product ensures a steady improvement in the condition of the skin.
- How To Use
-
To achieve the best results for acne-prone skin, use Alpha Cure Restoration Plus in combination with Benzoyl Peroxide (5%-10%) in the AM and PM. Dispense several small drops and apply gently all over the face, a bit more can be applied to problem areas and over pimples. Do not apply around the eyes. For oily skin, it is best to skip moisturizer. Some initial flaking, sloughing, or light peeling may occur. Temporary mild stinging, redness or increased sensitivity may be experienced when used together with Benzoyl Peroxide. This is not an allergic reaction and is not a cause for alarm. If you experience any discomfort, please stop using the product and contact us for a complimentary consultation.
